Sept. 3-5, 2026 The Food/Famine Tour Three Productions. Three Weekends. Nine Nights. Teesri Duniya is proud to present The Backyard Theatre Festival, a three-weekend event featuring some of the city’s most dynamic political artists. Interweaving stories of resistance across time, land, and languages, these community-driven pieces are exemplary of the intercultural, interdisciplinary work for which Teesri has come to be known. An activists’ answer to the summer festival season, this event also represents the formal launch of Teesri’s Backyard Theatre venue, located in the lush gardens of Cité-des-Hospitalières. Join us at sunset this September to experience the innovative worlds within these works. The Food/Famine Tour: This unique food tour/performance is a creation presented by the P.A.I.N collective and led by Anne-Marie St-Louis. Started in 2023 and accompanied by Teesri Duniya Theatre, this multidisciplinary play is rooted in the political and personal dimensions of food, in particular bread. With a combination of choral moments, storytelling, dance, photography, performance, theatre and music, the play will happen over three nights in the backyard and outdoor spaces of the theatre and will attempt to reimagine the concept of the “walking food tour” and ‘food stories’. Bread will be broken & refreshments will be served, please bring your picnic chairs and blankets. Audience and community participation is encouraged! Schedule: Thursday 3 September 2026, 7:00 PM Friday 4 September 2026, 7:00 PM Saturday 5 September 2026, 7:00 PM Tickets
