Artist Programs We have many artistic programs which seek to uplift and highlight Montreal’s diverse population. We provide opportunities for all individuals to express themselves and allow their voices to be heard. From productions of new works and paratheatrical events, to lectures and workshops, we have something for everyone! Past Programming 2025 – Voices of Freedom The second iteration of 𝑴𝒐𝒏𝒐𝒍𝒐𝒈𝒖𝒆𝒔 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝑫𝒊𝒂𝒍𝒐𝒈𝒖𝒆 titled Voices of Freedom. 2024 -Two Birds One Stone Rimah Jabr, a Muslim Palestinian, and Natasha Greenblatt, a Jewish Canadian, come together as co-writers in Two Birds One Stone, a heartfelt and charged conversation. It delves into the complexities of privilege, and reflects on the search for home and freedom. 2025 – Trans-Formation: Stories of Love, Resilience, and Belonging As part of the Staging Freedom Season, Teesri Duniya Theatre presents the first iteration of 𝑴𝒐𝒏𝒐𝒍𝒐𝒈𝒖𝒆𝒔 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝑫𝒊𝒂𝒍𝒐𝒈𝒖𝒆 The Shortest and Sweetest of Songs Presented in Teesri Duniya’s outdoor performance space, The Shortest and Sweetest of Songs is an experiential collage of poetry, puppetry, music, and live performance—an embodied exploration of hope and home in Palestine. Featuring a vibrant ensemble of puppeteers, actors, musicians, and performance artists, this multidisciplinary piece invites audiences into a shared space of reflection and resistance. Rooted in Palestinian poetry and intergenerational dreams of return, the performance unfolds as a living tapestry of sound, image, and movement—an act of remembrance, resilience, and radical imagination. Staged Reading of Dhara’s Revenge 𝗧𝗲𝗲𝘀𝗿𝗶 𝗗𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘆𝗮 𝗧𝗵𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗿𝗲 presents a comedic reading of 𝐃𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐚❜𝐬 𝐑𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐞, performed by eight actors. This comedy follows Dhara, a widowed matriarch, as she arranges the marriage of her brother to Urmila, an ambitious filmmaker. Blending scandal, emotion, and humor, the play explores deep themes such as culture, racism, patriarchy, and the pursuit of happiness. 2025 – Resurrected – العائدون من الموت Vernissage As part of the Staging Freedom Season, Teesri Duniya Theatre presents the first iteration of 𝑴𝒐𝒏𝒐𝒍𝒐𝒈𝒖𝒆𝒔 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝑫𝒊𝒂𝒍𝒐𝒈𝒖𝒆 Artist Programs Play Submissions We welcome all playwrights whose work meets the above criteria and in which cultural diversity is significant in plot and characterization.
