Land Acknowledgment Our Land Acknowledgment Is Our Pledge to Act Upon. Teesri Duniya Theatre acknowledges that the land it operates on was founded as, and continues to be, a colonial-settler state. We recognize that this sacred land is the unceded land of the Indigenous people, and we gratefully acknowledge them as this land’s past, present and future custodians. Teesri Duniya Theatre is committed to educating itself and engaging audiences about the colonial forces and processes that shape our present-day lives. We believe in decolonization as a means to restore justice and foster equitable relationships between Indigenous and non-Indigenous peoples. We express our solidarity with the Palestinian people, as their liberation struggle is closely connected to the Indigenous struggle. We acknowledge that the state violence and displacement happening in Palestine reflect the colonial frameworks that also influence our situation here. We are dedicated to harnessing the power of theatre to promote reconciliation and reparations, acknowledge Indigenous nationhood, reform the state constitution, and foster equitable relationships among all people.
